Traveling to Glacier, in far Northwest Montana, isn’t necessarily a quick trip. This means overnight visits are the best way to experience the Crown of the Continent, known as Glacier National Park. Cell service was very good, but would occasionally drop out for a second. Chicago is a city that never sleeps, and it’s easy to get pulled into the charm of the concrete jungle. Especially since the city is one of the Midwest’s only major metropolises. But sometimes, you just want to unplug, get some fresh air, and get back in touch with nature.
Fish Creek is located four miles (6.4 km) northwest of the west park entrance near West Glacier, Montana. Highway 2, approximately 32 miles northeast of Kalispell, Montana. This small, family-run RV park accommodates RV’s and tent campers alike. Or chose from one of the 3 cabins, if you prefer the extra amenities. Amenities include access to potable water, restrooms with flush toilets and sinks, and a shower facility. Restaurants, camp stores, gas, and a grocery store are available nearby St. Mary.

Kintla sits in the uppermost northwest section of the park called North Fork, about 40 miles from the West Entrance. It involves a 15-mile drive on a rough dirt road, so make sure to come prepared with a flat repair kit. Amenities include access to potable water, restrooms with flush toilets and sinks, and a picnic area.
You can rent a boat here, or mountain bike/hike the trails, which connect to the Matanuska Greenbelt system. This campground offers tent camping with access to picnic tables, toilets and an interpretive site. The trail may be a multi-use paved path or dirt hiking trail but should be suitable to recreational movement. Nearby the campground, just outside the park, you will find amenities such as restaurants, gift shops, camp stores, gas, and a grocery store. This is probably the nicest campground on the Edgerton Highway. You’ll enjoy an amazing view of a picturesque waterfall from the bridge across Liberty Creek. This small campground, less than one mile south of the cruise ship dock in Haines, is for bicyclists and others arriving on foot — no vehicles are allowed to here. Don’t miss the nice overlook in the forest above the campground, with views over the water to the Chilkat Mountains.

Dogs are limited to one per site and must be kept on a leash at all times. Pets are not to be tied outside and left unsupervised at any time. If any pet demonstrates aggressive behavior toward another pet or guest, you will be asked to leave the campground.
We are the hub for all of your activities in Montana’s beautiful Glacier Country. My mom has stayed in the bed and breakfast and she loved it. Photo by West Glacier KOALocated on the west side of the park, this KOA is full of amenities such as 50 amp hookups, laundry facilities, pools and hot tubs, and a convenience store. You can even book local tours of the park and nearby areas at the front desk. This KOA is right outside the West Glacier entrance of the park and has some stellar views of the park’s mountains. Bozeman Campground is located in a peaceful setting, just five minutes from golfing as well as fly-fishing on the Gallatin River.
It’s also close to the Apgar Mountains and Heaven’s Peak. All areas are closed to pets except developed areas, front-country campsites, picnic areas, along roads, and in vessels on lakes where motorized watercraft are permitted. Pets must be secured on a leash no longer than six feet, under physical restraint, or caged at all times.
